For several decades Samburu County has witnessed a series of ethnic animosity , raids and isolated cases of atrocities against Police Officers. In November 10th 2012,the National Police Service lost 42 gallant Officers who were involved in security operations. The heroes died in the line of duty serving the great Nation of Kenya. A monument was constructed in honor of these fallen heroes by CSI in partnership with National Police Service and Caritas. The names of the gallant officers who lost their lives on the course for peace are engraved in the monument.

CSI intends to expand the facility to a full Community Resource Centre to be utilised as follows:

  • To serve as a peace incubator for social impact.
  • To promote round-table discussions among the warring ethnic communities.
  • To promote ideas for constructive non-violent actions and solutions.
  • To serve as a training centre for various community and development programs.
